The tool shed became political.

Week 2 of my public experiment

At first it was about structure: PARA, Second Brain, Extended Mind, Hermes. Then the larger question appeared underneath: whether well-sorted work content and completed work packages really lead to effective outcomes.

1 · What I expected

  • Stabilize the vault and sort the working environment.
  • Set up PARA, context files and rules so I can work with Hermes.
  • Leave the big economic questions for later.

2 · What really happened

  • On June 26, a new working environment emerged: vault, writing style, working rules and hard boundaries.
  • The technology was important, but it was not neutral. It defined what I will be able to reach at all in the future.
  • That brought the existonomic question back: which rules help life, and which merely demand better bookkeeping?

3 · What this week did to me

Folders are harmless until they decide

A vault sounds like administration. A few folders, templates, context files, rules. That could be a clean productivity day. For me it is more. When my working time shrinks to two or three good hours, structure is no longer cosmetic. It decides which wishes remain reachable.

My environment also needs hard boundaries

Without AI, I currently could not produce this level of work from within my physical limitations at all. And yet my environment needs more than the opening of possibilities. It needs boundaries. No publishing without review and approval. No private information to the outside. These are not little style jokes. This is the boundary between assistance and loss of control. An Extended Mind may help. It must not start disguising outside sources or tearing open private doors.

From tool to stance

That is how the tool shed became meta. Because the same question that sits in the no-go rules for my Extended Mind also sits in the One Tax from Existonomy and in Misthos: where do we look when value arises? At working time? At money flows? At contribution? At risk? The week began with folders and ended with the sense that productivity and rule design are two sides of the same challenge.

4 · What I take from it

  1. Second Brain is not an end in itself. It is a meaningful support, especially for limited work capacity.
  2. Rules and hard boundaries are part of productivity because they prevent automation from slipping its leash.
  3. It becomes existonomic where tools do not merely make things faster, but make value contribution possible again.

Difference

Expected was structure work. In reality it became visible that, for me, structure stretches an economic and physical boundary.

Outlook

Next, the new workshop must show whether it can turn sources into real content: Misthos, Existonomy, adaptive accelerator, venture work.

Next hypothesis

Productivity is existonomic when it no longer demands more performance, but rearranges the conditions for meaningful value contributions.
